Las Vegas! We've arrived in our valley home so dear, or at least Emily's parents home so dear. We anticipate being here a few more weeks until Em finds employment as a teacher and we find somewhere close to her school to live.
I have started school, taking IS 101 and Phil 102. I do like school, but am downtrodden by the ineptitude of my professors, Philosophy especially. Reconfirms to me the truism that just because one knows a lot does not make him as a teacher.
But we got some new records and life is swell. And as soon as Insound catches up, we'll have more sweet sounds.
We also saw a neat movie last night called the "Singing Revolution", a film about the Estonian nation and the 50-year Soviet occupation of the country, and how the countries unique identity was kept alive by a (what's the word for every 5 years?) singing festival. After the propaganda socialist songs they were forced to sing, they would then sing the old Estonian songs, much to the distaste of the Soviets. The film was less about singing and more about a people's desire to become and remain free, and the lengths the human spirit will go to accomplish such a feat. I recommend it to all.
Pictures are still forthcoming, as soon as we figure out where we packed the cable-connector.
Close with a brief story: at the library the other day, and older gentleman came to the reference desk which I happened to be studying near (bad idea), and asked, "Do you guys have any books on DVD?" Gotta love that greatest generation.
